  6. Each month, we'll ask a (hopefully) interesting question to users on
  7. various nets and BBS's across the world and include the best answers
  8. we get in this column.

  10. The question we asked for this month was: "What are you thankful
  11. for, and why?"

  13. This seemed like the perfect question to ask for the November issue, 
  14. with Thanksgiving and all. :)

  67. What I'm most thankful for?  Well, certainly not Calculus...
  68. But seriously, I'm most thankful for having free thought and being born
  69. in a country that not only allows people to express it but sometimes 
  70. cherish it.
  71. And Poptarts aren't all that bad, either...

  84. What do I have to be most thankful for in my life?  That's an easy one.
  85.  My mother.  Who else would have brought me up in the way that she did,
  86. and who else would be helping to support my writing career?  Not many. 
  87. Probably no one.  No one except ner.  And that is what I have to be 
  88. most thankful for.  Sappy, aint it.<G>

  111. My faith, my family, my health, my writing talent.  I believe that sums
  112. up the things I am most thankful for.

  117. Many thanks to the people that took the time to read and answer the
  118. message. As usual, I'll now attempt to answer my own question.

  120. What am I most thankful for? Why, life of course. I've always been a bit
  121. of a pessimist (just ask my wife!) but there really ARE a lot of things
  122. out there to be thankful for, if you just open up your eyes and look. As
  123. for myself, I have a wonderful wife who loves me, 5 fine (if
  124. occasionally annoying) cats, several great friends, and I'm getting to
  125. do one of the things I enjoy the most: write! Who could ask for more? 
  126.  
  127. Oh, I could. My wife's sick, and I want her to be well. I'm
  128. middle-class, and I really wouldn't mind being wealthy. I've yet to sell
  129. a novel, and I'd really like to. 
  130.  
  131. You have to live with what you're dealt, though, to mix metaphors. My
  132. wife's sick, yes, but she'll get better. Of this I have no doubt. I'm
  133. not wealthy, but I manage to get by. And I WILL sell that novel, given
  134. time. <grin> I have a talent for writing, and of this I'll always be
  135. grateful to whatever mix of genes or deity decision made it so.

  137. All in all, I have a lot to be thankful for.
